The Carob Panvegone is VegSicilia's large, 100% plant-based leavened cake, made by an artisan bakery in Catania, in its most Sicilian version: a glaze made with carob, a fruit typical of the island, and dark chocolate chips.

The dough is made with natural sourdough and a long, controlled rise, using semi-wholemeal type 1 soft wheat flour (GLUTEN) from a controlled supply chain and Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar, with no artificial flavourings. Instead of butter and egg yolk, the bakery uses plant-based mixtures it prepares for every batch: no milk, no eggs, no margarine, no hydrogenated fats and no preservatives.

This year it comes in a 500 g size, perfect for the festive table or as an original gift for anyone following a vegan diet. Enjoy it in slices, at room temperature.
