    Babà with Rum

    Description: The traditional version of the Neapolitan Babà, soaked in a delicious rum syrup that enhances the cake's flavour and guarantees its typical softness. Each bite is a unique sensory experience, combining the lightness of the sweet with the intense aroma of rum.

    Babà without Bagna

    Description: The Babà without Bagna is designed for those who love to customise their cakes. This Babà is without the use of water, offering the possibility of adding your favourite water directly at home. Experiment with different types of water and create a unique Baba according to your taste.
    Ideal for: Those who like to experiment and customise their cakes, adding a homemade sauce for a personal touch.


    Recipe for Classic Rum Bagna:

    Ingredients:

    400 ml water
    200 g sugar
    150 ml rum
    Rind of one untreated lemon


    Preparation:

    Prepare the Syrup: In a saucepan, bring the water with the sugar and lemon peel to the boil. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
    Add the Rum: Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Add the rum to the syrup and stir well. let it cool down to 50 - 55 °C.
    Wet the Baba: Pour the rum syrup over the Baba, making sure it is well soaked to achieve the typical soft and juicy texture. Let it rest upside down for at least an hour before serving to allow the cake to fully absorb the soak.

    Neapolitan babas are an excellent dessert at the end of a meal, perfect to end any occasion on a high note. They can be enjoyed in different ways. The ideal way to enjoy Babas is by themselves, to fully appreciate their softness and authentic flavour. For an extra mouth-watering touch, whipped cream or custard can be added, making the dessert even more delicious.

    As for the syrup, the classic rum syrup enhances the flavour of the Baba, giving it its typical soft and juicy texture. In addition to the traditional rum topping, you can experiment with limoncello topping for a fresh, citrusy touch, or prepare a non-alcoholic version for a lighter, more universally appealing option.
