This wine of character takes its name "Viafrancia" from the road that crosses the Baglio di Pianetto estate. It is also a tribute to the French half of the Marzotto family who own the house, who brought with them invaluable wine knowledge to Sicily.

The color shines with an intense light ruby ​​red. From the glass flow floral notes (rose, violet, lavender), but also fruity aromas such as cherry. A full-bodied finish on toasted notes of cedar wood, leather, nuts, pepper and cocoa complement the intense flavours.

An elegant wine, not too heavy and with a bouquet of great intensity.

Format: 75 cl.

Ideal accompaniment: Grilled lamb, grilled beef, roast beef, penne with cream, aged cheeses.

Aromas: Cherry, rose, violet, lavender, pepper, cocoa, nut aromas, leather, cedar wood. Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.

Temperature for tasting: from 16 to 18°C.

Alcohol: 14% vol.

Maturation: 1 - 7 years.

 Vinification : Rigorous preliminary selection of the grapes. Fermentation with own yeasts in stainless steel tanks, including biological malolactic fermentation. Subsequently the wine matures for twenty-four months in wooden barrels, then is further refined for six months in stainless steel tanks for stabilization.

    A good wine ( did not try the white one yet) ; slightly fruitywith light notes of tobacco and red fruits ; but not so great for 5 stars! Looking forward for other new wines!!
